Available Materials
At Allied Metal, we have over two decades of CNC machining experience with PEEK materials.
Whatever your brand, whether it’s automotive, marine use, industrial or new energy, we can meet your expectations for delivering parts. Below are common PEEK plastic grades.
Polyetheretherketone|PEEK-1000
Also called Unfilled PEEK Resin. The most common grade. Very pure with high elongation, toughness and fatigue resistance. Meets FDA regulations and is approved for food and medical applications.
30% glass-filled PEEK
The addition of glass fibers reduces expansion and increases flexural modulus, making it stronger and more resistant to high temperatures. Ideal for structural applications requiring stability.
30% Carbon Filled PEEK
Carbon-filled PEEK is designed to provide improved wear and heat resistance for applications requiring high strength and heat resistance.
Bearing grade PEEK | PTFE PEEK
Also called PTFE PEEK, this grade of PEEK is particularly suitable for applications requiring high mechanical strength and wear resistance, such as bearings and seals.
These grades offer different performance characteristics to meet the needs of various applications. For example, unfilled PEEK is often used in medical implants and devices due to its good biocompatibility and sheer radiopacity. While 30% glass-filled PEEK is suitable for industrial and aerospace applications that require high strength and stability due to its enhanced mechanical properties.

Applications for PEEK plastic
The biocompatibility, chemical resistance and mechanical strength of PEEK materials make them an ideal choice for medical grade materials. It is widely used in artificial joints, orthopedic implants, dental equipment and surgical tools, etc. PEEK is also X-ray transparent and can be used in image detection and medical imaging equipment.
PEEK is used in a wide range of aerospace applications, including aircraft structural components, engine parts and satellite components. Its high-temperature stability, mechanical strength and chemical resistance enable it to withstand challenges in extreme and demanding environments.
PEEK is used in the automotive industry to manufacture engine parts, sensors, seals and wires and cables. Its high temperature durability, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance enable it to meet the automotive industry’s stringent requirements for performance, reliability and safety.
PEEK is widely used in the petroleum and chemical industry in piping, valves, seals and pumps and other equipment. Its high-temperature stability and corrosion resistance enable it to operate well under harsh operating conditions and provide long-term reliable performance.
It is also widely used in the electronic and electrical fields, such as cable protectors, connectors, insulating materials and semiconductor supports. Its insulating properties, voltage resistance and high temperature resistance make it an ideal choice for protecting electronic components and ensuring reliable operation of equipment.
In addition to the above, PEEK is used in shipbuilding, mining equipment, sports equipment and chemical processing equipment, among many other fields. Its diverse and excellent properties enable PEEK to meet the needs of different industries for high-performance materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
The machining of PEEK material has special requirements on tool material and geometry. Carbide tools are preferred for their good wear resistance and cutting efficiency, while a reasonable tool angle design can effectively reduce cutting forces and minimize thermal deformation. Diamond tools should be used for PEEK materials that incorporate carbon fiber reinforcement, or when particularly tight tolerances are required.
PEEK material may deform during machining due to internal stresses. This deformation can be controlled and reduced by controlling the amount of material removed, symmetrical machining, annealing treatment, changing the clamping method, optimizing the cooling conditions, optimizing the design of the mold, adjusting the process parameters, and selecting the right tool and machining method.
PEEK is a high performance thermoplastic engineering plastic with excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical stability. The surface treatment processes we can offer are: polishing and grinding, EDM, laser treatment, chemical coating, heat treatment, surface modification and assembly pretreatment.
Precise tolerances for PEEK machining depend on factors such as part size, complexity, equipment, and method used CNC machining is common and can achieve tolerances of ±0.005 to ±0.010 inches (0.127 to 0.254 millimeters), but an experienced machinist may use specialized tooling to achieve tighter tolerances, despite the hardness and toughness of PEEK.
